Born in 1933, Pistoletto is an Italian painter, object artist and theorist. He began exhibiting his work in 1955. In 1960, he presented his first show in Turin.

He created the first Mirror Paintings during the 60’s, which would include the viewer directly into piece. This brought on a new perspective during the time reversing the Renaissance perspective.

Pistoletto’s work has had a major influence on the contemporary art and modern thought. As with most art, the work has embodied a political stance but always maintaining something that is unexpected.
